Tsunami advisory...and I'm going to be an aunt!!

FINALLY, the cat is out of the bag!!!

As Dana and Erik celebrated the announcement of carrying a little bundle of joy with family, I was bracing for my first tsunami. Though it wasn't a "warning," my first tsunami "advisory" experience was pretty crazy. I had my boogie board on standby.

But GOOD LORD. Keeping exciting news a secret for one whole month is not easy. And sadly, I failed. Though I didn’t directly say, “Dana is pregnant,” DeDe immediately said, “Dana is pregnant” when I said, “I have a secret.” (She did call randomly on the same day that Dana told me. The excitement was bubbling.)

By the way, Dana is pregnant!! I’m going to be an aunt!

So Dana calls me a week and a half before everyone was going to be told (today) to tell me that DeDe’s boyfriend posted a message to Erik on Facebook. Arggghhh! I got in trouble. Seriously almost cried because I knew how much Dana and Erik wanted to tell people themselves. So I told Dana she probably shouldn’t tell me exciting news if I have to keep it a secret for a good while. I’m just not good at that.

I also told everyone at work about a week and a half ago. Ooops.

Truth be told: I’m not good at keeping EXCITING news a secret.
