Sous-Chef Michelle

I'm never the Head Chef, and I've come to terms with that. I'm perfectly happy acting as Sous-Chef. And so I did yesterday helping Shawn make homemade DOUGHNUTS. I was the doughnut fryer. And I have to say I did a pretty gosh darn good job. Shawn made one batch of his grandma's secret doughnut recipe. Yes people...this is just ONE batch. I had two or three (rolled in sugar), and they were scrumptious!  ....and I might have had a couple of those doughnut holes....

Strike a pose

Just getting in some Wii bowling practice. Fawn and Greg have the Wii here. I don't play it often, but now that friends Scott and Maureen left us one of their guitars for Guitar Hero.....well let's just say it's the first thing I did when I woke up this morning.

Yum Yum Burger on a Saturday Night

Pretty much this past weekend I was the laziest person ever. I did manage to leave the house for a movie, the grocery store a last minute decision for a Happy Meal at McDonald's. Yes, I said Happy Meal. What? (Oh and a hot fudge sundae.)

Let me just say for the record that I have three dear friends who also happen to be my roommates that can cook...really well. They can make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich seem gourmet. I am constantly amazed by their abilities. And extremely thankful they are my roomies.

And when we cookout, we don't just have ordinary cheeseburgers with ketchup - which I'm totally fine with. We have options for fresh tomato, pesto, avocado and even bacon. But I'm still a little apprehensive and opted for the tomato, avocado, mayo and ketchup. Boring I know. But it was still yummy! I even gave myself some extra ketchup as a dunker.

They tell me this stuff is easy to whip together. And, Yes, I DO know how to make a burger. I'm talking about whipping together sauces and actually making Pad Thai from scratch. Rediculous I tell you. REDICULOUS. Now I'm no dummy in the kitchen so I'm thinking it's just intimidation. If I could just get over my fear and get to work in the kitchen. They might actually be amazed...
Well, maybe not.
