Locked out.

I locked myself out of the apartment building this morning, taking the trash out. Just this one time I decided not to take my keys with me because I was going to prop the door open.... Well the door won and slammed shut. First reaction was to just cry. I knew it was early and our landlord wouldn't be over till noon. That's four hours without keys, a phone, or money to even wait out the time at a coffee shop. But I knew the upstairs tenants might be home. Great, now I'm the crazy, annoying, downstairs neighbors who's going to buzz your apartment early in the morning. They're going to hate me.

Buzzed a couple times. No answer. I pretty much knew they were sleeping.

Sat on the stoop for forever, contemplating life and why I didn't bring my keys. (Wanted to cry and scream, but didn't.)

Waiting won't be so bad.

I wish I would have at least had cash on me to get a coffee.

Time to buzz again. One short one. Two longer ones.

Finally! A voice on the other end.

What makes me feel worse is that the guy came out after buzzing me in and apologized for not answering when I buzzed earlier. Are you kidding me!? Thank you, I said, and I'm so sorry I kept buzzing and woke you up.

Turns out I was only outside for 30 minutes, but it felt so much longer, and it would have been.

Lesson learned. Then I cried a teensy bit for being saved from the stoop with no cash, keys or phone.

What was I thinking?

My day gradually got more stressful and to top it off, it was my first day back at the Boxing Company. After a two-month hiatus, Fawn and I decided to celebrate the occasion with Six-Pack Attack. Needless to say, it was HELL. I seriously almost told the instructor that I HATED her.

I wanted to punch her in the face, especially when I had to take a break and she'd say "Come on Michelle. You can do it!" She ended up saying it a couple times and it made me feel like the fat girl in gym class that couldn't run all the way around the track. Ugh.

Ten minutes into the class Fawn and I gave eachother dirty looks. We secretly hated the instructor and the class. Our arms were falling off and think I pulled a neck muscle. Of course the stupid instructor made every move look so easy I could've puked. When we FINALLY got some sort of a stretching break it felt like Christmas morning. With each new move I thought "Are you kidding me?" The class is only 30 minutes people, but after 5 minutes I didn't think I was going to make it. And we were going to do an additional workout after...FORGET THAT. Both Fawn and I were like let's get the hell outta here!

But we did do this one move, which I've decided to re-demonstrate for all to see. (a shout out to shawn for helping me with the photoshoot. gracias.) The move is called The Lymphatic Flush. For one minute you twist your arms and legs one way, crunch and release. You then repeat twisting your arms and legs the other way and release. The instructor said it restricts oxygen to your lymphnodes as you are doing it and then when you release you burst fresh oxygen through your lymphatic system. Crazy stuff, but I think I did feel the fresh burst of oxygen in my system.

And yes, it felt as rediculous as it looks...

Testing my green thumb

Truth be told, I've only kept one plant alive in my life. And sadly, that plant died on my cross country trip from Wisconsin to California. I had the thing for 2 years! It was very sad to see it wilt away in the back seat of my car.
But soon enough I planted another something (I can't even remember what is was). But as you can see (at right), it quickly died. The funny thing is, I found it just like this one week ago in our patio cabinet. Instead of throwing the dead plant away, someone put it in the cabinet. Why? I'm not sure. The purpose of even going in the cabinet was to get the essentials needed to plant some other flowers I got for Dana's bridal shower. I've been meaning to plant them for a while. Well I finally did! Yeah! (Pictured at left)
I've already forgotten to water it. Thankfully Shawn did. :-) So soon, I hope to report back with a beautiful photo of the flowers that bloom.
But that reminds me... I gotta water the darn thing!
