I took Mr. B and Cody to the dog park today by myself. At first, Mr. B wouldn't leave the house. It was like he thought I was kidnapping him or something. So I had to carry him down some stairs to walk on the sidewalk. This dog isn't little either...
I brought my book, thinking I could relax and read while they both mingled around with the other dogs. That didn't happen. Two minutes into the dog park and I was bulldozed by five Boxers running full speed. The dog owners were worried. I was fine.
It's funny how dogs can be just like their owners. Mr. B is a social butterfly. He wanders from dog to dog, person to person, to say hello. Everyone thinks he's so unique and cute. It must be the lack of bulldog sightings, and one that sounds like a pig. Cody gets attention too because he's white and kind of looks like a rabbit when he runs, but he likes to access the situation around him before just wandering off. I would say that is just like me. I kept urging him to just follow Mr. B around, but he wouldn't have it. He'd run off when he saw a new dog come in, but then come right back to me. I'm not complaining, because I'd rather him stay near me than me having to chase him.
It's a beautiful day today. So hopefully I look like I got some sun.
In other happy news, my dear friend Angie had her baby today — a boy named Joey. Angie was my college roommate freshman year and friend ever since. I'm so happy for her and Jim and hope I get to see the baby this summer.
OK, gotta go. Cody just found my flipflop...
