This belly was the first thing I was excited to see after getting off the plane last Saturday. Dana is showing more and more. I swear her belly has gotten even bigger in the last couple days. I even felt him kick, and it happened shortly after I whispered his name into her belly. Kinda freaky, but exciting! We've been going poolside the past four days - getting our tan on. I really needed one.
Last night and today, I've been knee deep in getting the finishing touches for Dana's baby shower this Saturday. I'm pretty much done. Mom and I are just going to get some party gifts and the food. I feel good having most everything done. Now I can't wait to put it all together.
The past couple days I've been staying at Dana and Erik's house. Last night I came to mom and dad's new apartment. I'll be staying here till Saturday. Today I'm all alone. Everybody is back at work. I spent three hours this morning finishing the baby shower purchases. The Target employees at the North Point Parkway store in Alpharetta (I wanted to be exact) are useless. How many people do I have to ask to help me find cupcake holders. I was greeted with blank stares after first asking where I could find the cupcake holders. Then I was sent to three different areas. Finally I just left. It was that bad. Who the hell doesn't know what a cupcake holder is? And why is it so hard for store employees to KNOW where stuff in their store is. Lazy asses.
Anyways... I finally found what I needed at Michaels. Thank you Michaels for assisting me and knowing your aisles. Much appreciated.
It's been five days since Cody has been at Camp Diggity Dog. It was a last minute boarding because Shawn got sick (long, long story....). It's a cage free boarding place, and they have webcams so I've checked on the computer a couple of times and he seems to be OK. I actually just called for the first time a little while ago and they said he was doing good, playing a lot, eating, and he had made friends with a French Bulldog. This all makes me feel a lot better.
All in all, I'm having a very relaxing vacation. I've eaten a lot, but that is to be expected when I come home and all the family gets together. For the 4th of July, we went to the pool and then Dana and Erik's subdivision had a party with music and hot dogs and snow cones. I got a grape snow cone. We didn't stay long. Then me, mom and Dana went to go see Eclipse, while dad stayed home and watch The Pacific on HBO. When we got home, we sat at the end of the driveway and watched everyone light off their fireworks.
Tomorrow night we're going out for dinner with grandma and grandpa. Then Friday night we're going to the Tiki Bar (spelling???) by Aunt Wendy and Uncle Todd's house.
The vacation is going by faster now, but it doesn't hurt that I'll be going home to work five days and then be on a plane again to Wisconsin.
It's freaking HOT here. I was thinking of going to the pool until General Hospital comes on (when do I ever get to watch my soaps but on a vacation... yay!), but just thinking about walking outside makes me feel light-headed. Hahaha..
