Anxiously waiting

After brushing my teeth and dabbing on some eye cream, I'm thinking it's going to be hard getting to sleep.
Dana and Erik will probably be up in 3 hours to get ready to go to the hospital. They are scheduled to be there at 5 a.m. It's 10:30 p.m. my time - pacific time. Who knows, by the time my alarm goes off at 6:30 a.m., Dana could be well into her labor.
This is another monumental life experience that doesn't yet seem real. It all sneaks up really fast.
I just hope the joy overshadows the sadness of not being right there with them to celebrate.
Across the many states that separate us, I send strength and patience to Dana and Erik to get through the labor. I send Dana peace as she labors through the pain. God knows that girl will probably go without the epidural... Either way, I pray for a healthy baby and a healthy mother.
