No cell phone service for 3 days. It's an amazing feeling to be cut off from the world of news, news and more news. I did miss not being able to see new pictures of Landon...
I have yet to see a bear while camping in Big Bear. The ranger told us there has only been only one bear sighting, but that there were still rattle snakes. Um yeah, I would rather see the bears than the snakes!
A total of 8 people and 7 dogs joined the adventure this year. Camping brings back so many great memories. I do miss all the awesome camping equipment mom and dad had. But my friends and I have made the most of our camping adventures these past couple years. All we need is a pudgie pie maker, and we're good to go! We had three this year.
Mom and dad's tent is still holding up well. We fit 3 people and 2 dogs in it this year. It was so cold! It got down to 25 degrees Friday night. The next night wasn't as cold.
On Saturday, we decided to take a hike up the hill behind our campsite to see what we could find. Little did we know that a couple feet from our site was the actual entrance to a hiking trail.... We ended up taking that on the way down.
Once we were at the top of the mountain, we could really see all of the fire damage from the previous year. I'd like to go camping more often, but that drive up and down the mountain makes me car sick.
