A weekend trip to the Peach state

I got back on Sunday from a weekend trip to Georgia to visit Dana and Erik and family. It was a nice relaxing weekend. I got to see Dana's house for the first time. She has it so nicely decorated. Pottery Barn is her best friend. :-)

DeDe and Jesse picked me up from the airport and we all had dinner at the local mexican restaurant. I then beat Jesse in a couple games of Wii bowling and tennis, much to his dismay. Friday night we headed up to Aunt Sindee and Uncle Dennis's for dinner. Took my first dip in a salt water pool. (Seriously, why do chlorine pools even exist?)
And snacked on some delicious chicken and steak shish ca bobs. I stuffed myself, but did leave room for cheesecake. :-)

On Saturday, Dana and I made a field trip to the local iHop and grocery store. I love me some iHop pancakes, eggs and hashbrowns. (We made a lot of local field trips.)

Later on in the day, the family came over to celebrate Erik's birthday and watch football. Erik is spoiled. There, I said it.
I asked him what his secret is, and I can't remember what he said. I'll have to ask him again. He's special though. Deserves to be spoiled. But I wouldn't tell him that too often.

I tried to get in a couple games of Guitar Hero, but no such luck. I went outside for 15 minutes to play with the kids and eventually told Jake I had to go inside to cool off. The heat was so gross. That's the best way I can describe it — gross. Within 10 minutes I was sweating. But I had fun playing with Jake. Oh and I did get a quick game of hide-and-seek in. Katelyn came downstairs to tell me I had to find Madison and Kylee. I saw them right away when I went upstairs, but like a good cousin pretended like I didn't and searched every other closet but the one they were hiding in. :-)

At the end of the night, I was sad to see everyone leave knowing it wouldn't be until Christmas till I saw them again. Dana, Erik and I played Rummy and ate leftovers before calling it a night.
Sunday was a lazy day...as all Sundays should be. We begged Erik to watch We Are Marshall (one of his birthday presents) instead of football. Some of my best days are spent laying on the couch in pajamas watching movies and tv. This time I got to do it with my sister and brother-in-law. :-) And it was super fun.

I can't wait to visit Georgia someday! A road trip from Wisconsin is DEFINITELY in my future.
