The 25 Days of Christmas: Day 7 & 8

After a weekend of sleeping in till 11 a.m. and noon, I woke up at 6:30 a.m. this morning feeling well rested. Thank goodness. I must have needed that extra house of sleep. My 25 days of Christmas fun are more like 25 days of just work, besides the weekends.

On Sunday I ventured out into the wilderness for garbage bags and coffee. We had so much garbage to throw out from the party, but no garbage bags. Here's a picture of all the waste we accumulated in one night.

After a quick cleanup, I made a spot in the living room and read my new Nora Roberts book while the other kids watched football. I filled up on snacks left behind from the party — pizza
rolls, chips, a cupcake... (all healthy snacks). Shawn nursed a neck injury from sleeping on too many pillows. Fawn and Greg soon roused for round-two of festivities — Greg's work Holiday party. I, on the other hand, watched Fred Claus — maybe had a cookie or two — and went to bed.

It's been a gloomy day. A little chilly even. A fighter jet crashed in a neighborhood near La Jolla. It made national news, and so far three people are confirmed dead. So sad being so close to Christmas.

But in happy news, today is my cousin Katelyn's birthday! Happy Birthday Katelyn! Hope you had a great day. I'll see you soon!
(This was taken last summer up north in the Wisconsin woods for the Weyenberg Family Reunion. That's gum she's showing. hahahaha...)
