Do you see where those normal looking people are sitting behind the guy with that skin tight outfit? That's where Shawn and I sat during a performance of Xanadu at the La Jolla Playhouse on the UCSD campus Wednesday night.
The show was my Christmas present from Shawn. The whole sitting on stage was a surprise for both of us. A lady randomly picked us after we walked in. After a back-and-forth of "yes and no's," we finally decided "yes, we will be a part of your show." hahahaha....
I was hoping there would be hair and makeup people, but no such luck. We got our directions - like don't point when you see something offstage. It was easy not to point, but NOT easy to NOT look. Overall it was fun being so close to the actors as they performed. I think Shawn and I were laughing the most. Then I'd look at other people and they'd just be sitting there. BORING people....
The show follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greeg muse who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first Roller Disco.
Can you see why we laughed so much!
