Perp patrol: A crime stopper at work

Last night at 2 a.m. I heard glass breaking, like a crash outside my window (light sleeper). So I went to look out the window thinking it was someone breaking into a car.

Come to find out, some kids were across the street at the high school playing around, or as I told the police after I dialed 911 .. "I think they are trying to break into the high school gym."

At first, when I saw them walking (not running) after the crash to the opposite end of the gym (dressed in all black), I was like "oh they are just playing around." But then my conscience said, "Michelle it's a high school. There is class tomorrow. What if."

So I dialed 911.

And as soon as the cop car showed up, I saw them run ... pointed the officers in the direction of the perpetrators, and went back to bed only to wake up 5 hours later to my alarm going off.

So the doc put me on some strong antibiotics for 7 days, and I have to go back today for a checkup. They aren't quite sure what it is just yet. But whatever it is, it's going away.

So far, I've only gotten through the prologue of Ted Kennedy's memoir ... and already the last paragraph made me tear up. This is going to be a good book! I hope to just relax and read this weekend. Taker easy...

Tomorrow is the 25th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day, and we're going to have a booth for OurCity. So that will be a good start to the weekend — the beach and volunteering.

Mom, dad, Dana, Erik and the gang are on the cruise boat. Dad sent me a text yesterday that said, "WE ARE GETTING ON THE BOAT. BON VOYAGE!" He makes me laugh. He still hasn't figured out how to get rid of the all-caps lock when he texts. So every time I get a text, I feel like he's shouting at me. :)

I am shouting at you because of all those ear infections you had when you were young, and ALL of the times you never listened to me in junior and senior high!!! Besides, there is no button that makes those darn letters smaller on the phone. It is old, I don't have a new one like everybody else.
