Sunday drive

Me and my little Honda Civic took a field trip around Point Loma yesterday — a good 2-hour trip. I've been having a harder time than expected finding a new home in Sunny San Diego. This time around, I decided that I'd go ahead and pick the area of San Diego that I wanted to live and then look for places their. Other attempts to look "anywhere" only led me to the ghetto's of this beautiful city.

Point Loma area is where I've lived for the past two years. I love it. It's a great central location to everything. So with my spiral notebook and pen riding shotgun, Honda Civic and I made our way up and down the streets. By the end, I had filled three pages with street names and phone numbers.

Right now I'm weighing the pros and cons of paying more than I wanted, but having extra amenities such as laundry onsite, a private balcony and security (gated parking, etc). I'm feeling positive today that I'll make a decision by this Saturday. I'm going to look at a place after work today. But who knows. If this place isn't to my liking, well, it might be back to square one again. I've crossed off many places after doing initial drivebys randomly after work.

I did stop by one place yesterday. They were randomly open on Sundays for a couple hours. It's a nice area, very clean. But I didn't get that feeling when the lady opened the apartment door for me to look around. I can't describe the feeling, but I even had it before I moved into that dump of a place in Black River Falls. And, I definitely had it when I moved into the place I'm at now.
