But today I noticed a dry darn brown spot on my chair after sitting in it for a while. I IMMEDIATELY went to the bathroom hoping it didn't rub off my my light-colored pants. It didn't, but all I could think about beforehand was that I was walking around with a brown spot on my butt and everyone saw it already. Phew! What a way to start off a Friday morning! And my feet stink today....I think it's these flats that I'm wearing. Hmmmm...
Wat een dag = What a day (in Dutch)
Trish invited me to have lunch with her and her parents today. The first thing I asked her was if they were going to speak Dutch to me. She said "probably." Her parents came from Holland in 1961. So I was thrilled to hear them speak my native tongue and to ask them some questions.
So I made it official during our Vietnamese lunch that next summer (2010) I am going to travel to Holland and it's surrounding countries. I'm just going to add on a vacation week to the first week in July that we already have off. So this is me putting out the word to anyone who'd like to join me on this adventure! Let's go backpacking!
First thing I need to do is get a hold of that information that one of the Weyenberg family members put together about our ancestry. I tried to tell Trish's parents the story of the two Weyenberg brothers, but I don't know much else. Oh, and I need to take some Dutch language lessons.
It's been raining all day and is supposed to continue through the weekend. I like it! Also, Dana and Erik and mom and dad have their blogs (The Road Traveled & Adventures of Empty Nesters) are up and running. Yeah! Their links on are list page in my "Blog List."
KUSJES!!!!! (This means "kisses" in Dutch. Trish's mom taught me that during lunch.)

Ok, so maybe I will meet you there! It depends on what is going on at that time, but I'm up for it!!! Reamer will probably be deployed at that time so it would be a great time for me to keep busy and do some traveling! It would take me about 10-13 hours by train to get there from Vicenza! Where all would you want to go??? I'm up for any Europe traveling!!! Fun Fun Fun! And I know some people stationed in Germany... (free place to stay) and of course there is always a nice place in Italy to stay ;)
Wow, would that be fun! Aunt Elaine or Aunt Pearl or Aunt Ceil might have the Weyenberg info you are looking for. I think the Great Great Great Granpa who came over dropped the Vanden from VandenWeyenberg when he came over. I think Vanden just means family of? But not sure. I'm in if I don't have a job by then.
